Forza Horizon 5 is a racing video game set in an open world environment based in a fictional representation of Mexico. The game has the largest map in the entire Forza Horizon series, being 50% larger than its predecessor, Forza Horizon 4 while also having the highest point in the Horizon series. The map was described by creative director Mike Brown as one of the most diverse Forza Horizon maps the team has built.

With a star-studded Career, four-player split-screen, innovative online modes, livery editor and more new features, DIRT 5 is the next generation of extreme racing. I think where we landed on the playlist, where it takes maybe two and a half hours to do it all within a week - that might be an evening session on the game, which I think fits into people's lives really nicely. They go to the gym on a Wednesday, they watch TV on a Friday, they go to the pub on a Thursday and play Horizon on a Saturday. It just slots into their lives really nicely like that. So for those people that love collecting cars, which is I think most of our players, they usually get a new car every week, which I think is a really great reward for working through that stuff.
In December 2019, as part of the Series 17 update, a new 72-player battle royale-style mode called The Eliminator was added. In this mode, players start by driving around the game world in a fairly slow, weak car such as a 1965 Mini Cooper. As players roam the safe zone, they can acquire car drops that contain more powerful vehicles that randomly appear on the map. Players can also challenge other players to head-to-head races to specific points on the map by pointing their camera at the other's vehicle and honking their horn.
Players are eliminated from the event if they drive out of the safe zone or lose a head-to-head race, where the winner of such has the option to drive the opponent's car or receive an upgrade. Eventually, when the safe zone shrinks to a certain point, the remaining players will then race to one final point on the map to determine the winner. Microsoft stated in 2021 that The Eliminator was the most popular multiplayer mode in the game.
Ubisoft's Massive Entertainment is working on a brand new, open-world Star Wars game. Not much is known about the title yet, but expect it to take elements from Massive's previous releases - The Division series. It could, therefore, be a photorealistic action-adventure with RPG elements involved, and we do know it is running on Massive's own Snowdrop game engine.
But apart from that, any more info is in the air, including official platforms. However, we'd be very surprised not to see it launch on Xbox Series X whenever it does get released. At E3 2013, first-hand gameplay, new features, and cars in "Forza Vista" mode were shown.
The Lotus E21 driven by Kimi Räikkönen and Romain Grosjean in the 2013 Formula One Season was also revealed on November 5. So the Expeditions act as almost a curated experience through the world where you'll have a character who really excitedly calls out all the cool things you can see. And they also offer us an opportunity to showcase some of our new technology.
There's one where, as you're on the Expedition, a tropical storm rolls in and it's really dramatic. There's another one that goes up the volcano and, wouldn't you know it, the volcano's active at the time, because of course it is. They offer us an opportunity to showcase a lot of the really exciting things that the game has to offer in a curated, story-driven experience. A lot of those things can and will happen in free-roam just naturally, while you're exploring, but this gives a more curated way to do it. At the end of each Expedition, you open up a new Horizon festival site, and with that opens up a load of new races.
It was to be expected that Horizon 4 might break the rhythm. It was more successful in some areas than others; the game is constantly rewarding to dip into, but it has struggled to make its rather chaotic online multiplayer offering as sticky as its solo challenges. At first I was a bit disappointed that Alfa and Lancia are gone and I kinda still do but I realized that the game offers a lot including my dream car the jag xjr15. I never thought I would ever see that car in a Forza game. Along with all the 90s/2000s supercars and very old classics in the game. Most racing games focus on very recent cars and that's it but here we have cars for everyone and I feel grateful for each and every car in the game as a genuine car enthusiast.
The Series 7 update in March 2019 introduced the Festival Playlist. Players complete daily, weekly, and monthly challenges, including, but not limited to, Seasonal Championships, Playground Games, Ranked Adventure, and Seasonal PR Stunts. While completing these tasks alone earns players rewards, they also contribute to weekly and monthly rewards.
50% and 80% completion of both the Series and the current season rewards drivers with an exclusive car or cosmetic item, consisting of the Common, Rare, Epic, or Legendary rarity. The Festival Playlist has continued to be a part of each series since its introduction. A toolset that allows players to create their very own races, game modes, and game play experiences – allowing to customize everything – right down to the fundamental rules of the game.
Forza Horizon is probably one of the best arcade racing game. You should not expect a sim racing from Forza Horizon series. High jumps, no engine overheat, no tire damage etc. It is a game where you enjoy the view, cars, music and activities.
You find yourself in a drift activity while you are on the way to go to race. Forza Horizon offers same gameplay from previous game but in different map and new cars. However, a number of critics complained about the relative lack of content versus its predecessor, Forza Motorsport 4. Matthew Kato of Game Informer called the game's revised career mode "a mistake" and that Forza Motorsport 5 "takes a big step forward only to be held back by what it has removed".

Local split-screen up to four players on offline modes, including Career, makes DIRT 5 the perfect couch multiplayer racing game as you battle for position with your friends. Online, throw down in curated race playlists for up to 12 players and compete in innovative objective-based modes. But mostly, I'm okay with Forza Horizon 5 not being an evolution because the Forza Horizon — and those in its sister series, Forza Motorsport — remain the gold standard by which all racing games are judged.
The controls are still spot-on, the tracks are still nicely curved, and the competition is, well, competitive. All of which may make this feel a bit like a used car, but a used 1967 Chevy Corvette Stingray 427 is still a Corvette. The Forza Horizon games let players chose the levels of realism individually. As Forza Horizon 5's release date of November 9, 2021 draws closer, we're learning more and more about what to expect.
While we do that the game will take place in Mexico, we don't know all of the cars that will be available. Thankfully, the developer, Turn 10 Studios, has released the Forza Horizon 5 car list as to what we can expect. It should be noted that this list is not complete and will be updated before the release. Additionally, it can be assumed that DLC will be launched after the release that will feature even more cars.
